In an interview with Pearlnow, on June 24, 2023, Nat Locke revealed that it has been six months since she made a significant decision to prioritize her health. But she is happy because it’s been a successful mission. Later, she explained,

You see, six months ago, I had gastric sleeve surgery. Yes, it’s a bit dramatic. But yes, it’s been very effective so far. See that picture of me at the top of the page? I don’t really look like that any more. I also made a decision to be completely transparent about it, because I didn’t want to be disingenuous to anyone who looked at me and wondered how I had achieved my weight loss.

Nat Locke then continued,

I wasn’t going to pretend that I had just stopped eating carbs or that my success was down to walking for two hours a day. Also, I don’t subscribe to the theory that there is anything to be ashamed of. If there is a stigma around prioritising your health, I’m not buying into it. But clearly there are some people who are a bit judgey about it, because as soon as I talked about it on the radio, I got messages from people who had had the same surgery but hadn’t told a soul.

People had a lot of questions when it comes to procedures like these. But Nat Locke was happy to answer questions, despite the fact that she was not a bariatric surgeon. And the most frequently asked question was, “What does it feel like?” According to her, the answer is quite simple:

A tiny amount of food is enough to make her feel satisfied. Rather of a whole plate, a cup of food will suffice. This takes a bit of getting used to, especially when I’m eating out. Confused waiters often wonder whether there was something wrong with the food as I’ve left most of it on the plate, and I always assure them that no, I just have a tiny stomach.
