All That was very huge in its time and the sketch comedy show still serves as a piece of nostalgia for kids who grew up watching it. Every cast member was as huge as the show was then and they still are iconic for their roles in the show. Lori Beth, in particular, is one of the most beloved cast members of the show, and her roles as Loud Librarian and Vital Information are still remembered fondly. But no matter how adored she is, it still does not trump speculations of her weight loss which is unfortunate.

So, yeah, Lori Beth Denberg’s weight often hijacks every conversation about her because she’s overweight and while it’s sad but true that overweight people will always have people discussing their physique and making suggestions that they lose weight, it’s especially sad for Lori because it does not seem like she has any weight loss plan for the future. She seems like she’s fine with the body she has and has no desire to lose weight. Yet, people never fail to bring her weight.

Lori Beth Denberg has largely managed to escape the fatphobia and low self-esteem that society instills in obese women by demeaning them because of their weight. She was always that way. Even when she was doing All That and people either cheered for her for representing larger body types or mocked her for being fat, she was unaware of society’s perception of her physique and weight, and blissfully so. She never felt the need to have weight loss.

As she said,

It was brought to my attention that I should probably lose weight, but I wasn’t held up as a role model back then. I wasn’t brimming with confidence, and all the kinds of things that come with being overweight and all the societal stuff, I experienced it. But somehow I still said, ‘Well, I’m gonna go do this show and be crazy and be loud and be on TV.’ I wasn’t doing it in some protest of like body positivity. It’s just what I needed to do.

Lori Beth Denberg never entertained thoughts about weight loss despite being overweight. She was probably that way because the internet had yet not taken over the world and she was ensconced in safety but even in this digital age today, she’s managing to be detached from all kinds of comments on her weight which is commendable. The fact that the discourse surrounding her weight has become mainstream seems to have no effect on her because she still hasn’t shown any inclination toward losing weight and getting fitter.

Lori Beth Denberg has thousands of people on the internet suggesting the idea of weight loss as if she really is oblivious to that idea. The fact that she hasn’t embarked on a journey to lose weight is not because she does not understand the concept of losing weight. It’s her prerogative what she chooses to do with her body, lose the weight or keep it.

We can’t possibly say that Lori Beth Denberg is not concerned about the health issues that her weight might bring and we don’t know that she hasn’t tried to shed the extra weight and get slimmer and healthier. If she is choosing not to have weight loss, there might be reasons behind it and I think that it would be a grave disservice to her if we, as a society, don’t stop asking about her weight and whether she has ever thought about losing it.
