Dale G. Renlund Spoke About Jesus at the 193rd Semiannual General Conference!

As per Renlund, after five years of searching in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings for King Tutankhamun‘s burial chamber, an archaeologist realized the only remaining viable spot was beneath his base camp. The treasure-laden tomb was soon discovered.

Likely, the 1923 discovery is comparable to Jacob‘s Book of Mormon prophecy of Jerusalem looking beyond the mark and failing to recognize the coming Messiah. He stated,

He is our mark. If we incorrectly imagine that there is a need for something beyond what He offers, we deny or diminish the scope and power He can have in our lives. … Jesus Christ is our treasure.

Similarly, Dale G. Renlund also stated that the Saviour provides numerous opportunities to consciously focus on him, such as the daily opportunity to repent, the weekly retention of remission of sins through partaking of the sacrament, the sanctifying fellowship of the Holy Ghost, and the making and maintaining of covenants, including temple covenants.

Conference messages might assist in remembering and being focused on Jesus Christ. He then concluded by saying,

He is our Savior and Redeemer, the ‘mark’ to whom we should look, and our greatest treasure. … As you come to Him, you will be rewarded with strength to face life’s challenges, courage to do what is right, and the ability to fulfill your mission in mortality.
