People were used to the presenter being a little overweight so, they noted right away that she had changed when she looked a little slim. Kelly Cates is a well-known Scottish presenter who currently works for Sky Sports, BBC Radio 5 Live, and ESPN. She regularly presents live Premier League football on Sky Sports. She used to host other sports programs for the likes of ESPN and ITV prior to that. For BBC Radio 5 Live, she regularly hosts the 606 football phone-in show, alongside Arsenal legend Ian Wright. Besides that, she has also worked for Talksport and on Joe’s Liquid Football podcast.

Aside from presenting sports programs, she, along with her father, campaigned around the Hillsborough disaster which took the lives of 96 Liverpool fans in 1989. They are hailed for that to this day. Because of things like that, Kelly is not just well-known but well-liked as well. Anyway, let’s come to the present. Right now, she’s “well-talked” about because of her weight loss. Since the broadcaster regularly presents live Premier League football on Sky Sports and hosts the 606 football phone-in show, she is constantly in the public eye. So, people don’t really expect to see her undergo a sudden weight loss or weight gain. They don’t expect to see her look noticeably different from the previous week because they can’t miss any changes she might be undergoing physically. But it looks like they have because she appears to have undergone sudden weight loss which has left fans confused.

After her recent broadcasts, fans have noticed that Kelly Cates has gotten a lot slimmer than before. She had been a bit overweight for a long time and they were used to her looking a little chubby. But, now, she doesn’t look chubby like they remember. She has very clearly undergone a weight loss and fans want to know how and when she lost all that weight. She was always in the public eye, just how could anyone miss that she was getting slimmer day by day?

People’s minds are still reeling with the thought of Kelly Cates’ weight loss. Just what did she do? And when? What diet routine did she follow? Did she start going to the gym? Did she hire a personal trainer to help her get in shape? Or did she start working out by herself in her home? Did she plan it all? Or did she just make some lifestyle changes that resulted in her losing weight and getting a bit thinner because that’s possible too?

A lot of Cates’ followers seem to think that weight loss has never been her priority and that she was quite confident and secure in her appearance. So, they don’t believe that she ever planned on losing her weight. They think that she just happened to lose weight because of some changes or situations in her life. They are adamant that her minor physical transformation was not a deliberate choice on her part.

And even if it was deliberate and Kelly Cates had chosen to have a weight loss, why wouldn’t she share that with her followers? She’s very frank and always candid with her viewers. Many seemed to think that way. But you know, she’s a public figure and she has to present herself in a certain way to appeal to the viewers. Just because she seems very frank does not mean that she shares every decision about her life.

So far, Kelly Cates has not even acknowledged her weight loss speculations and she is so unbothered by it that it does not look like she ever will. Not that she absolutely needs to do that but a lot of followers expect it because they want to know if it was a conscious decision on her part. Given what she said about being secure with how she looked, they didn’t think that she would ever go on a weight loss journey.

She admitted that she doesn’t think men will find her attractive because of her weight and age. Speaking on The Mid Point podcast to a fellow sports host Gabby Logan, Kelly said that she just didn’t feel that men would want to date her and that feeling that way didn’t have anything to do with her being insecure because she was not insecure at all.

I don’t have a picture in my head of why a middle-aged, slightly overweight, mother-of-two could possibly be attractive. I can’t get my head around that. It’s not that I’m putting myself down, it’s not a lack of confidence or low self-esteem, it’s I just don’t know what that would look like. I will not be writing my own bio on dating websites.

From what she said then, it didn’t look like Kelly Cates would ever embark on a weight loss journey but it seems like she has.
