houseandwhips.com – Kevin Hart had a bit of weight gain while he was in Italy filming Lift. The comedian overindulged in pasta, pizza, and wine which showed in his physique. But realizing that it would not look good in an action film, he held himself back and started working out lightly soon afterward. Kevin Hart’s weight gain is a thing of the past now.

Kevin Hart is great at comedy. He was doing stand-up comedy competitions and winning them when he got his first breakthrough in acting and was cast by Judd Apatow in a recurring role on the TV series Undeclared. His acting career took off really well after that. He did many movies, some of which are Paper Soldiers, Soul Plane, Little Fockers, Think Like a Man, Ride Along, Get Hard, Central Intelligence, The Secret Life of Pets film franchise, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, and the Jumanji film franchise.

Though everybody found out from the movies that Kevin Hart is brilliant with comic timing, it was only when he released his first stand-up album I’m a Grown Little Man that his comedic reputation started to grow. He has released four more comedy albums since then: Seriously Funny, Laugh At My Pain, Let Me Explain, and What Now?, and he has only gotten better in each one. He was named on Time‘s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2015. He’s big but for now, let’s talk about his weight gain, shall we?

Previously, we touched on the weight gain stories of Amanda Anisimova and Sloane Stephens.

If you feel that you are out of the loop because you don’t know what’s going on and why people are discussing Kevin’s weight when it absolutely does not look like he has piled on and looks fit as always, let me tell you that all the discourse about the change in his weight is in relation to a recent interview he did with USA Today for promotion of his new Netflix movie Lift. He revealed that he underwent a bit of weight gain in that interview.

So, Kevin Hart’s new comedy-heist movie Lift, which is about what happens when a master thief attempts to pull off an impossible heist with his international crew at the request of the FBI, was filmed in Italy. I think you can imagine what happened that led him to put on weight in a country that is known for its delicacy and cuisines. Of course, he overindulged in food because he couldn’t resist the eclectic taste. Good food took hold of him for some time, which resulted in his weight gain.

In an interview with USA Today, when Kevin Hart asked about the food situation in Italy, he said,

Things got out of hand in Italy. It’s a lot of food in Italy. I gained a little weight. There was a moment where I said I had to pull back a little bit because this is not going to show well on camera. The way Cyrus started out when we were in Belfast is not the way it’s ending. When we was in Italy, lots of pasta, lots of pizza. Pasta, pasta, pizza. Pizza, pizza, pasta and wine. So, making sure that you dumbed it down and operated in doses. That was something I had to make a priority.

What Did Kevin Hart Do About His Weight Gain?

Hart ate more than usual because who can say no to pizza and pasta and wine in Italy? Very few people can resist the temptation and Hart was not one of them. He surrendered himself to his sense of taste and kept on eating and eating. Only when he realized that he gained a bit of weight and that he was there to shoot an action movie and weight gain by eating too much food is something to be avoided at all costs if you are filming action scenes, did he control himself and pulled back a little. Kevin Hart managed to shed the extra weight he gained.

He started with a light workout because he was injured but he made do with it because it worked for him and he got in an impressive shape for the action movie. He controlled his eating and he got back onto the treadmill in preparation for his stunt-filled role. He kept fit and there are not many who would disagree if anyone were to say that Kevin Hart was in some of the best shape of his life in Lift. You would never know that he ever struggled with weight gain while filming for the movie because as he said,

I probably was at 4% body fat through the course of this movie.
