Her first look was revealed recently and it was followed by speculations that she has gotten cosmetic treatments.

You just have to know what the ‘Carol’ actress thinks about cosmetic procedures to know that she is just not the type who would indulge in it for the sake of having a grasp on youthfulness. She has always been very vocal about being against going under the surgeon’s knife. She mentioned in a 2010 interview that she just does not get the logic of looking younger than one’s age. Cate Blanchett basically said that she does not desire to get cosmetic enhancements whatsoever. As she put it,
There’s so much pressure and fear to do all that surgery stuff but I’m really not interested in looking 25 again.
Two years later, in 2012, the Australian actress again made a point against cosmetic procedures by noting that the procedures would just make people look worse with time and that they were not for the long term. So, even if she wanted to indulge in some treatments for the sake of aesthetics, she would not go ahead with it because she was too scared of how it would look after a certain period. Cate Blanchett went on to say that she feels pity for those who choose to get work done.
There’s been a decade or so of people doing intervention with their face and their body. Now that we’re emerging from that people are seeing that long term, it’s not so great. I’m not sitting on a soapbox telling women what they should and shouldn’t do, but I know what works for me. I’d just be too frightened about what it means long term.
