Sheamus was seen slamming Reigns through the table, but as he did so, a piece of furniture retracted and hit Reigns on the nose. He had a collapsed septum which caused difficulty in breathing. His nose bone was not straight and he was suffering from a Deviated Septum. Due to this, Reign had to undergo nasal reconstructive surgery after two months of the injury. The surgery eventually altered the shape of his nose.
At the time of injury, WWE reported that the former WWE champion would need to undergo surgery after a bloody beatdown. It was also reported that Roman was dealing with issues with his nose for quite some time and required nose surgery. Reigns tweeted out the following photos, revealing his post-surgery protective nose guard.
According to some sources, it had nothing to do with the beating he took from Triple H. The beating not only fueled the Reigns/Triple H rivalry, but it also coincided with the real-life surgery Reigns required to correct a pre-existing condition (what’s known as a ‘two birds, one stone’ scenario).
